PDoT is seeking for expert, skilled and motivated employees with a Master or a PhD degree in the fields of Nanomaterials & Nanotechnology, Fabrication & Characterization of Electronic Devices (printed & organic preferably), Computer Science and/ or Electrical Engineering (embedded engineer for IoT applications) and Mechanical Engineering (for product design & development).
R&D Engineer, Embedded Systems & Mechatronics
A wearable robot and a solar cleaning robot have one thing in common: the loop between sensor, controller and motor. Come and build that loop.
PDoT runs applied R&D in EU-funded projects with universities, research centres and industry partners across Europe. Our current work stretches from 3D-printed exoskeleton hands embedded EMG sensing to smarter solar (PV) plant operation incorporating drones, cleaning robots, functional nanocoatings and thermoelectric generators.
What you will do
- Work on actuation mechanisms & robotic structures
- Develop embedded firmware
- Integrate peripheral devices (e.g., cameras and sensors with edge AI hardware; build test rigs with automated data logging)
- Contribute to technical reports, publications and new project proposals
Will be appreciated if you have previous experience on:
- MPPT algorithms and power electronics for hybrid PV and thermoelectric systems
- Basic electronics design (power, battery management, wiring, custom PCBs)
What you bring:
- Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (mechatronics focus) or a closely related field
- Embedded C / C++ on microcontrollers and hands-on motor control (MicroPython, and LUA are welcome)
- Basic electronics design and lab skills (soldering, oscilloscope, multimeter)
- Fluent English, written and spoken
