CamoTEXtreme: Fabric Workshop at Andropol’s Facilities, Poland (1-2 September 2026)

The PDoT team travelled to Poland this week to take part in a two-day CamoTEXtreme workshop, hosted at the facilities of Andropol, one of the project’s Polish partners.

CamoTEXtreme is a multi-partner research and innovation project developing multifunctional textiles for camouflage and resistance to extreme environmental conditions, extending protection across the full spectral range relevant to modern detection systems. PDoT is proud to be part of the consortium driving this work forward.

The workshop brought together partners from across the consortium, in person and remotely, to examine a range of commercially available fabrics and assess their suitability for the project’s goals. Over two days of hands-on, detailed discussion, the group reached agreement on a first set of base fabrics — a key milestone that will now serve as the common starting point for the partners developing the technologies to extend and improve camouflage performance across the project’s target spectral bands.

The PDoT team was actively engaged throughout, contributing to the technical discussions and helping shape the fabric selection and the next steps agreed for the work ahead.

With a clear set of base fabrics agreed and next steps defined, the outlook for CamoTEXtreme is genuinely optimistic. We look forward to sharing more updates as the project moves ahead.
