PDoT Team Visit to IMEC (2026)

Excited to share highlights from the PDOT team recent secondment at IMEC in Belgium within the framework of the EU-funded APPROACH project. 

This visit was truly an eye-opening experience — both technically and strategically contributing to the objectives of APPROACH project. 

At IMEC’s headquarters in Leuven, we had the unique opportunity to visit a world-leading research and innovation hub in advanced semiconductor technologies. Experiencing firsthand the cutting-edge Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) Lithography cleanroom facilities environment, where next-generation microchips manufacturing is developed was nothing short of inspiring.  

The scale, integration and process control behind advanced lithography reaffirm how deep-tech collaboration drives Europe’s technological sovereignty. 

In Genk, hosted by IMEC’s Thin Film Photovoltaics group, we engaged scientific exchanges with distinguished researchers in the field of perovskite PVs. 
Specifically, activities relied on a blended mentoring and training model including: 

• Lab lectures in advanced materials engineering and challenges in perovskite PVs 

• Exchange of insights on scalable fabrication routes and existing pilot lines 

• Test PDOT’s custom functional inks on-site. 

The secondment enabled networking, high-level technical discussions, strengthening collaboration channels and fostering synergies between industrial innovation and world-class research infrastructure.
